Revolve function
Click Design > Surface > Create > Revolve .
The Revolve dialog displays.
Select a sketch profile, sketch curve, or planar face.
Note: If you uncheck the box next to Chaining, you can select a single edge instead without selecting its adjacent edges.Select a sketch curve, edge, cylindrical face, or axis to revolve around.
Use the manipulator or the dialog to set the Angle value.
In the Revolve dialog, select one of the 3 Type settings, and adjust its associated settings:
- Angle
- Angle: Drag the manipulator handle or type a value to specify the angle of revolution.
- Direction: Select One Side, Two Sides, or Symmetric.

- Direction: Select One Side or Two Sides.
- Angle:
- Full
- Angle
Select an Operation from the dropdown menu, and adjust its associated settings:
- New Body
- New Component
Click OK.
The revolved surface body displays in the canvas.
On the toolbar, click Solid > Create > Revolve .
The Revolve dialog displays.
Select a sketch profile or planar face to revolve.
Select a sketch curve, edge, cylindrical face, or axis to revolve around.
In the Revolve dialog, select a Type setting, and adjust its associated settings:
- Angle
- Angle: Drag the manipulator handle or type a value to specify the angle of revolution.
- Direction: Select One Side, Two Sides, or Symmetric.
- To
- Angle:
(To)
- Direction: Select One Side or Two Sides.
- Angle:
- Full
- Angle
Select an Operation, and adjust its associated settings:
- Join: Combines the new body with an existing body.
- Cut: Removes an area from an existing body.
- Objects to Cut: Check or uncheck objects to cut.
- Intersect: Creates a body at the intersection of an existing body and the new body.
- Objects to Cut: Check or uncheck objects to cut.
- New Body: Creates a new body in the active component.
- New Component: Creates a new body in a new component.
Click OK.
The revolved solid body displays in the canvas.
